I had these little tiny scraps of pink tulle and was about to throw them away, when I thought "why not" and made another headband...fun and cute and Kyla was excited about it. Perfect little match for her latest skirt :)

Dresser Redo
I needed a dresser for the new baby...so I took this one and decided to repaint it.
It had lots of dings...and many layers of paint....and wouldn't you know, my awesome husband offered to sand it. It took him a long time...it needed a lot more work than we originally anticipated....
Then I primed and painted it a nice clean white:

Now the baby has a dresser!! And while I was at it I gave Kyla's dresser a little sanding and fresh paint:
That one was much easier....now I'm looking forward to redoing some other pieces of furniture...hopefully this summer!

Tulle Skirt
OH MY...she LOVES this skirt. I let her wear it out one day last week and couldn't believe how many people gave her compliments on it...and she's such a sweet girl to quickly respond "Thanks, my Mommy made it" with a big smile.
It took some time, but it was pretty simple. I used the pattern from the twirl skirt from Crap I've Made, just left off the lop layer. Before I stitched the top to the bottom, I added tulle. I cut the tulle into 2 inch strips and did a double layer. I just scrunched it up as I went to save time trying to gather it, and it worked great! I got the idea from Little Birdie Secrets and Pink Picket Fence.
*It took 2 yards of tulle to make this skirt.

Foam Swords
I've got boys....and my oldest is REALLY into Swords right now. We found foam swords at Shopko and John really wanted to buy them to play with the kids. ($2.99 each) I was a downer and told him we could just make our own and told him I'd seen the idea on a blog (The Idea Room) that had made them out of swim noodles. One of my cool friends made these last year for her kids, too. So, he reluctently left the store without buying the swords. So this weekend I was surprised to come home and find them all playing in the back yard with these:

Esp. since I hadn't shown him the blog, but I really liked his design and it didn't cost anything because we had all the supplies from his work and summer work party.
He put a smaller piece of noodle on the other end of the handle...I loved it! He also did not run the PVC pipe all the way up the noodle, so they are softer for my little kids.
I was so impressed and the kids were SO happy! He's an awesome Dad like that though....

Car PJs
Nathan has been wondering what I was going to make him...since Kyla's been getting some things made. So...I came up with Car Jammies. We bought some car jammies for the winter months...and they have been well used: if they're clean, he's wearing them. So I knew we needed car jammies...but I thought I could make them cheaper than I could buy them...so....that's what I did!
I used a PJ pattern I already had, adjusted it a little and made some shorts. Then I paired that up with some Hanes shirts I got at Target...I had a coupon and they ended up costing $5 for 5 of them. So combined with 50% off on the fabric at Joanne's, these ended up costing about $3 a pair for summer PJs. Love it!
I used Wonder Under to adhere the car shapes cut from the fabric. I added a small stitched border to help them out. We'll see how well they hold up...but he is SO excited!

Matching Hair Accessories
Once again I made a headband using the pattern from here. Then I used some scraps to make the clip...
Hmmm...I can't find the link for the bow idea....I'll give credit when I find it.

Another Twirl Skirt
Since Kyla LOVES rainbows and glitter....I had to make another twirl skirt out of this fabric. She LOVES it!! I think she'd wear it everyday if she could :)
Once again, I used the tutorial from Crap I've Made!
