Teacher Gifts

The school year is at an end this week, so I made a little something to go along with a card to tell Kyla's teacher how much I appreciated all of her hard work. She really is a great teacher. Kyla has also had a classroom "Grandma" helping all year, so we made one for her, too. I also had Kyla make each of them a card to tell them Thank You as well. (She was thrilled to do so)

I had fun making these fun little pin wheels: (I've made some hairbows with them, so more to come on that soon)
I got the printable for the pot at Skip to My Lou.

For Free...

I love that you can get free stuff with coupons....I used some doublers at Albertsons and some internet coupons (2 computers) and got all of this free in 3 transactions. Just had to pay 18 cents tax for each transaction!

Unbroken

by Laura HillenbrandI finished this book. Wow. I have not read a book like it. It was like a train wreck that you don't really want to know the gruesome details, and yet you do so you keep reading. There were parts in the book that really got to me. It's about war...and a story that I had not heard about being a POW. It is about Louis Zamperini, who started as a juvenile offender, then turned into an Olympic racer, and later an Air Force pilot in WW II. He crashes and is stranded in the Pacific Ocean and after long nights at sea, is imprisoned by the Japanese. I enjoyed learning about different points of World War II and the impacts it had and an individual and on the world as a whole, but descriptions and detail were a bit to much for me, so I have mixed feelings on recommending this book to anyone.
