Outlet Covers for the Boys' Room

John was awesome and put in tamper outlets in the boys' room. I had fun making the cover plates using modge podge and fabric to match their room!

Boy's Room Coatrack

I finally got this finished and hung...It is wallpaper put on a large board and of course pegs to hold the coats, jackets, and hats... Now if only my youngest didn't think it was a fun game to pull everything off and pile it on the floor...sigh.

Hold back the curtains!

I've bought these at Walmart years ago and they've just been sitting...until now. They were super fast to paint and I love that they are bright yellow to match the yellow construction trucks... And look at all the light it lets in now!

Curtains in the Boys' Room

Finally....cute curtains in the boys' room! I used blackout fabric on the back (Thanks for telling me about it, Julia) It blocks out a lot of the sunlight...great for naptimes! Here's a closeup of the fabric: John picked it out for the boys. I liked it and got to work...Nathan was super excited to see all of those trucks! Kyla is now begging for curtains in her room...

Wall Construction Pictures

Finally, I got around to getting these done...and my husband was awesome and hung them up for me where I wanted them. I am happy with how they turned out. Yeah, you may have to click on the picture to enlarge it if you really want a close look...but this is what I did:
8 pieces of wood cut 8x10, perfectly cut because my dad did it for me (Thanks Dad!!)
8 sheets of paper
8 pictures, 5x7 printed with sepia so they have a brown effect to match the brown trim I painted on the edges of the boards.

Paint edges of boards, modge podge on paper. Let dry. Sand edges. Modge Podge on Pictures. Let dry. Hang...

Contruction Wipes Container

So I've been thinking about doing this, and finally just did it:

The top didn't turn out perfect, but I thought it was good for my first attempt at this. I love how it matches the boys room....now I've got to recover the changing pad....

Construction Truck Pillowcases

So the boys needed matching pillowcases:

I made 2 like this with yellow trim and 2 yellow ones with the blue truck print for the trim.

Finally...Contruction Truck Blankets!

So when Nathan was a baby...I wanted to do the "boy" room in construction stuff...esp. since John was working on the temple as it was being built. I found this cute fabric...after looking for a long time and bought everything on the bolt. Then it just sat until last week when I finally got my act together and took them to my Grandma's house.

I have lots of childhood memories about my Grandma sewing, esp. quilts...she has a small business to stitch the quilts to the batting...sorry I don't know what that's called...but she's great at it! She let me pick a pattern...she had a lot to pick from! And turned my fabric into these beautiful quilts for the boys! Nathan was so excited! He had a huge grin and squeal and kept saying "Car, Car, Car" as he pointed to them all. So take a look:
