I caved....

I had no plans to make these:
but my sister invited me to go with her to a bead place and I fell in love....these are so easy to make and I made both of these there and only paid $20 (that includes the watch face) so I loved the price, too. They are way more comfortable to wear than I thought they would be, too!

I may just have to go back and make some more :)

Thanks Staci!

Card Organizer

I finally got around to making one of these...I'm hoping I can do better and sending out cards to pe0ple this year...I think this will help. I found the idea a long time ago on Katie's Nesting Spot.
I kept mine really simple and used paper, stamps, and a 8x8 book that I already had. The pages have pockets that hold the cards I need for that month: Birthdays, Holidays, and other special events. I made my pages 2-sided and there is a pocket for each month.
Now I just need to go through and fill in my dates and make a bunch of cards....but it's a start!

Blanket and Burp Clothes

I made these for our upcoming baby (yeah...we haven't agreed on a name yet :) ) They match the car seat cover, not that it mattered to have them match.

Car Seat Cover

I've been wanting to make one of these for our upcoming baby...so I bought some flannel that I liked and found this tutorial on Make it Do just in time to make it a breeze to make.
It even has curved corners, so it won't drag on the ground :) My favorite part it that it has straps to hold it onto the car seat and holds it off the baby's face.
Here's a peek at the underside flannel:
So I readjusted the car seat straps, put on the cover and one more baby thing is ready!!

Little Handbag

So you can make one for you with great directions from here (Little Birdie Secrets), but my source of inspiration actually came from here (Skip to My Lou). I wanted to make one of these for Kyla and found 2 chunky round braclets at a yard sale shortly after finding the idea (for 5 cents each--YEAH). She loves it and has looked for any excuse to pack it with here when we have left the house. It made for a great Christmas Present!

Nativity Puppets

I filed away this idea from Executive Homemaker last year to make, but bearly got it done for Christmas this year...

With the kids being so little, it doesn't take much before I lose their attention, but these puppets helped to keep them involved in the story of baby Jesus this Christmas. I really wish I'd had my mom paint the faces on, but since I waited to get them together until the last 2 days before Christmas, I didn't really have that option, So the faces aren't that great, but it didn't matter---my kids LOVED them! They wanted to wear them and be a part of the story, so we actually were able to read them the story right out of the bible, which was great! We will definitely be doing this again next year!
Maybe I'll get a door theatre done this year...that's also on my list of things to do.
