Wheat Grass Heads

Last Friday I let the kids in my paint...oh what a blast they had painting these pots. Nathan painted himself quite well, too. Unfortunately his pot had a mishap when we went to plant them this afternoon. (Good thing I had a spare). We planted wheat in the pots and glued on a face...now Kyla keeps asking if her plant has grown yet... These will be really cute with some tall green grass hair. And then I will let them use scissors to cut the "hair". I'll repost a picture when they grow.

Easter Wreath

This morning the kids helped me make this for our front door:

They picked the eggs out of a basket and I glued them on. It was a good chance to go over colors with Nathan. I loved how fast it worked up and I had all of the supplies laying around the house, so it was cheap!

Kids wanting to make Cookies...another blog for me

For the kids that say "I want to do it myself" this is saving me...

Years ago I bought this attatchment for my kitchen aid because someone told me how much they loved theirs. Yeah...I never really used it. But now that I have kids that want to pour everything in the mixer...it has become an essential. It lets them have independence, but keeps their hands away from the mixer. So yesterday we made cookies and the 2 of them took turns pouring ingredients into the mixer.
Then I decided...I need a blog to post my recipes and maybe keep myself a little more organized. So if you want to see what cookies we made you'll have to check out that blog... aubreysrecipes.blogspot.com

Hair Styling

I really liked this hair style on Kyla she didn't like it...only because it didn't have a bow! I did the same weaving up the back.

Hair Flowers

Kyla LOVES wearing flowers...I got these on sale at Michaels. I made 3 flowers on clips...and of course she wanted to wear ALL THREE at ONCE! Silly girl!

St. Patrick's Day Shirt

I found the shirt on clearance at Target...and it was a quick job to cut a shamrock out of green fabric and stitch it on. I stitched in a quarter inch or so and cut the edges to fray in the wash. Kyla thinks it's a "tree" shirt, but she loves the color green, so anytime it's clean...she's wearing it.

Crayon Rolls

There are several patterns on line...so I picked what I liked about them and ended up with these: I needed two 5 inch patterned fabric, interfacing between and 6 inches of the yellow fabric (folded in half), a small piece of elastic and a button. And of course the crayons which were on sale for 20 cents last fall...so these were a pretty cheap filler for those upcoming easter baskets!

Zipper Fix

My mom made this dress for my neice, and I was glad to have it passed to me, but the zipper was looking worn. I stumbled across some white Metal Paint the other day in my basement, and knew just what to do: So I painted it!

And now it is ready for spring!
